Sergei Sergeyevich Prokofiev (Russian: Серге́й Серге́евич Проко́фьев, tr. Sergej Sergeevič Prokof'ev)[1][2] (27 April [O.S. 15 April] 1891 -- 5 March 1953)[3] was a Russian composer, pianist[4][5] and conductor who mastered numerous musical genres and is generally regarded as one of the major composers of the 20th century.
