But she was a hugely important musical figure in her own right. We look at thirteen facts you (probably) didn’t know about the life and career of Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel. She wrote her own music for her wedding the night before the ceremony.  Felix had never gotten around to doing it for her, as he’d promised he’d do. 5. She named her son Sebastian Ludwig Felix Hensel after her three favorite composers: Bach, Beethoven…and her brother.  Sebastian would be her only child.
