The song "Wind Beneath My Wings" was originally written in 1982 by Jeff Silbar and Larry Henley. Singer Roger Whittaker recorded the first official release of the song, followed over the years by Sheena Easton, Lee Greenwood, Colleen Hewett, Lou Rawls, Gladys Knight & the Pips & Gary Morris. However the most well known and highest charting version by far was recorded by Bette Midler for the 1988 film "Beaches"
